"Best Laid Plans" by Long and Short Reviewers
Awarded 4 books
In this fun and entertaining tale this woman finds love and a family in the last place she expected.

With her biological clock ticking, Beejay Milliston comes up with a plan (and questionnaire) to find the perfect husband. She finds her plans disrupted by Web Klein and his brood of orphaned nieces and nephews. Working for the IRS, Beejay originally enters Web’s home office to audit the accountant, but chaos ensues as she finds herself dealing with mini-crises involving Web’s family and finds they have wormed their way into her heart.

Web and Beejay are interesting characters who both seem to have a plan for their futures. Beejay wants a husband and family, but her plan does not include love or a ready-made family. Meanwhile, Web realizes that he needs a maternal figure for his nephews and nieces. I enjoyed watching them realize that their priorities are a bit out of order and what they think they want might not necessarily be what they need. I found their relationship to be interesting as they cross a line that changes their relationship from being impersonal and professional into something more. Their relationship starts as a strong friendship which I found interesting and it is obvious that they grow to care for one another.

As for the plot, the story starts out strong, but kind of felt rushed toward the end as Web and Beejay both make decisions that I didn’t quite agree with and which felt a bit out of character for them considering their growing feelings. But I really enjoyed the adventures and unexpected events throughout the story as Beejay faces many things that disrupt her orderly life from a flooded townhouse to an unexpected visit from her parents. Several of these unexpected events are quite touching.

The children of the story really stole my heart and every scene that they appeared in. I loved watching Web and Beejay interact with them. Beejay learns a lot about herself from dealing with the children and it was interesting watching her relationships develop with them as well as they bonded.

Featuring characters who learn a lot about themselves and each other as they grow closer, this was a fun story full of the unexpected.

Review of "Johanna" by Joyfully Reviewed

Johanna is an orphan who has turned her tought upbringing into ferocity for her career. She figures never to marry and  is convinced more of this when an empulsive weekend with a down-on-his-luck stranger  leaves her pregnant.  Johanna does some soul searching and  knows she is going to keep this  baby, but it could her her career. She hatches a plan to compensate the man (the baby's  father) for his  time and obtain a marriage  in name only, as to be unwed and pregnant at her  job will bring her career to a screeching halt. Unfortunately, or fortunately, her down-on-his-luck man is not so down on his luck, and  has a few demands of his own.

Luke can't believe his good fortune to have fathered a child. After the death of  his first wife on their honeymoon he never thought it would b epossible. So no way is he going to lose out on the raising of his child.

As they spend time together, Johanna and Luke find themselves falling  in  love. But will Luke's past haunt them forever, and  will it tear them irrevocably apart?

Johanna is an emotional rollercoaster  of a story. You will laugh and you will cry at the twists and turns this story takes. There  are  unforseen forces that will work against the couple as they try to love and protect each other  and form a strong family unit. I found  the author did a wonderful job in tell how the  entire family can be affected by the action of one, even it it is  unintentional. Johanna is also the story about a love that in the end won't be denied. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and think you will also.

Review of "Johanna" by Night Owl Romance

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Johanna. It was a very thought provoking story prompting me to ask how many women have had weekends like Johanna, with or without the same outcome? Johanna's character surprised me because I thought her a little selfish at first, but based on her upbringing you almost cannot blame her, as she had to fight hard for everything she has. Luke's character was a little frustrating, but needed to be that way in order for things to come full circle between him and Johanna. This book made me experience a vast range of emotions that I have not experienced from a romance book in a long time. I loved Johanna and it is definitely a recommended read! 5/5 means its a keeper.

Review of "Johanna" a Contemporary Romance by Coffee Time Romance
Rating: 5 cups
Johanna MacDonald is a young executive. She was raised in the foster care system and is very independent. She has no intention of ever marrying or having children, but that all changes when she meets Luke.

Luke appears to be just like all the homeless drifters in Seattle. But he is far more than he seems. He really likes what he sees when he meets Johanna after filching breakfast from a restaurant buffet where she happens to be.

After a one-night stand with Luke, Johanna discovers she is pregnant. First angry and then ecstatic, Johanna concocts a plan to get Luke to marry her and then divorce her later. However, she does not bargain on him being the young billionaire Lucas Bryerson and is stunned when she finds out. They get married and begin falling in love with each other when it quickly becomes apparent on their wedding night that Luke has some serious mental health issues. Will their marriage survive his problems?

Johanna is a stunningly beautiful romance that proves that the capacity to love is limitless and that true love in a marriage is based on far more than sex. I could feel every aching emotional pain that Johanna felt as over and over she tried to help her husband but he seemed to get worse. The author did a fantastic job of explaining what severe anxiety attacks are and what can cause them, as well as what the best treatments for them can be. Luke as the emotionally broken but still strong man was a pleasure to read about. I really enjoyed the resolution of this book, and for that alone will read this book over and over again. This book will win awards, and you do not want to miss it!

Review by The Long And The Short Of It

Rating: 5 books by Jasmine

--I enjoyed reading this novel. The characters are very lively and filled with true emotions that non-fictional characters often feel. Furthermore, the relationship the develops beween Johanna and Luke is something that can happen in real life. Usually, fiction is written with the idea that the strong male is the one who sweeps the felmale off her feet and offers her comfort and security. In this story, I was pleasantly surprised to realize that both Johanna and Luke need something from each other. ---This is a must read for all fiction lovers.

Review of "Clementine" by Coffee Time Romance
Awe-Struck E-Books
Release January 2008

Regency Romance
Rating 4 Cups

Clementine Pennington is mourning the loss of her beloved protector, Lady Agatha Moorland when the lady's vicious son tosses her out of the home she has lived for the past fifteen years.  Near penniless and without references, Clementine despairs of finding honest work.  She has been raised a lady though she is not of the class; a strike against her.  Another strike is the fact that, at twenty-seven she is still quite beautiful.  Answering an ad for a housekeeper turns out to be a blessing and a curse for Clementine.

Lord Alexander Silverton, solicitor and heir of the Earl of Chatham, is impressed with the young woman despite the fact that she has no references or experience as housekeeper.  He has other plans for Clementine; to be Lord Denby's next wife.  Never mind the fact she intrigues him, he must think of his friend first.  Silverton is determined to keep Clementine with Denby; she is a strong woman who will get Denby back on his feet and on the way to a more quality life.  Perhaps Denby will play the piano again.  When Appington the fanatical monk living in the Denby household is discovered to be abusing the children and Denby, Clementine has no choice but to transport them to safety, but what will happen when Appingaton catches up to them?

Isabel Martens's skillfully woven story of mystery, love and danger will keep readers briskly turning pages to see what the outcome is.  CLEMENTINE is a fine example of the gothic thriller; with chilling undertones, an innocent heroine and a maniacal villain.  Don't miss this one.
